We can be Heroes...

Just a quick post to say that there's this new TV series in the States called Heroes and I'm once again getting addicted to it. Thanks to Enzo, I have the first two episodes on my laptop. :) I'm halfway through the second episode and it's turning out to be a really interesting program.

It's about normal people who find out that they have special abilities and superpowers. Funny how the story's almost like Super Noypi! Haha. But no one can accuse us of plagiarizing or copying the whole concept since Super Noypi was conceptualized and put on paper several months ago.

I just found out that you can view the latest episodes via NBC's website. They change it weekly so make sure to catch the new episode online before it changes Monday night (Tuesday morning Philippine time).

There's this other series too called Kidnapped and full episodes can be viewed online too. NBC rocks! :)

Sadly, the full episodes of My Name Is Earl cannot be viewed but two minute teasers are offered in the site. Good enough... if you just want that My Name Is Earl fix.

CBS and ABC offers the same thing on their respective websites and I was hoping I could watch the new seasons of CSI, CSI NY, CSI Miami (on CBS) and Lost (on ABC) as they get aired in the US. However, their service is only available in the US. Crappy. Talk about discrimination. Hmph.

Oh well.

Try to catch Heroes. It's really kewl. :)

Okrayfest!

Wednesday, October 4, 2006. Despite it being a weekday, my feet took me to the first leg of the San Miguel Oktoberfest in Megamall. And because it was a weekday, there weren't much punkitos in sight. Great! Haha.

Left the office with Con at 8pm and five minutes or so later, we were at Megamall to party and rock on with everybody else. LT made it really easy for us to get inside the backstage (a big shout-out to you LT! Haha) and for a few moments we loitered a bit looking for the perfect spot to hang.

I saw Darwin (of course) and Ketel when I arrived. Apparently, Ketel just stepped off the stage playing for Top Suzara, who was the first act for the night. Missed that. Not that I really mind. Hehe.

The next band made my head hurt. Big time. They called themselves DNA Rock (or something like that, I'm not really sure) and when they got on stage, they played a medley of rock tunes (intro parts) for their soundcheck piece. Boy, did they murder the songs! Grrr. They played a bunch of covers and a couple originals. I wasn't really happy with anything they played, which made me say out loud, "Cover na nga lang di pa kayang plakado!"

A rocker dude heard me and actually laughed at what I said. Maybe he was thinking of the same thing. Hehe.

So while DNA was playing, Con and I launched into Okrayfest, dishing out okrays here and there. Of course most of the okray went to the band itself. Haha. But there were others too.

Like the girl in front of us who was wearing a tanktop, mini-skirt and ballerina slippers (not sure if that's what they're called but I think yeah... hehe). Like hello?!!?!? Why would you wear something like that knowing full well that there are throngs of beer-guzzling punkitos and manongs all around? Sure she was backstage... but the way to the backstage wasn't exactly jolog-free!

Then there was this uber-weird guy we didn't know but apparently was famous because people kept on having their pictures taken with him. Later on we found out he was a host on JackTV.

Then there was this manong who kept on coming too close for comfort. He stank of beer and sweat. Blech. Good thing the bouncer spotted him and escorted him outside. Good 'ole bouncer probably saw how he was kinda irritating us.

Then this girl (who is actually the gf of one of the musikeros... I won't mention who out of respect for him) wearing something really outrageous and you wouldn't be caught dead in in a rock show.

:::Sigh:::

Some people talaga!

Haha.

More on the Oktoberfest in a bit. Work is kinda piling up and I need to get things done before it's too late.

I guess I'm not so Super after all

It has taken me longer than usual to post again here. Nope, I haven't been that busy. It's just that I got so wrapped up being administrator of the Super Noypi blog. Administrating a blog that has visitors of over a thousand daily is no easy task, especially if there are people who post profanity. Got my hands full most especially yesterday when a chatter flooded the chatbox with really nasty stuff. Which meant I had to watch the page semi-24/7.

And this on top of all the other things I gotta do.

Yeah well... I guess I'm really not that busy. Hehe.
