Death by Krung Krung
I thought I've seen and experienced it all. Having been working for more than ten years, I've seen and heard weird stuff. Things people only think happen on TV or in the movies, I've seen and some of them were even first-hand experiences. But nothing prepared me for what happened last Friday.
Lest I get in trouble for posting about it here, I think I wouldn't go into details anymore. Let's just say that my photo was taken against my will and I was errr... taken by surprise.
No, it wasn't lewd or anything. It's actually a wholesome fan pic, where I was the erm... "star".
I thought I would die.

Incidentally, today is supposedly Kurt's 40th birthday.
Sigh.
Almost A Rock StarAfter more than decade (ehem), I finally got my heart's most fervent wish. :) -->

- Get Your Own
I was around 15 when I dreamt of becoming a rock star. Haha. But since I never learned how to play the guitars nor the drums, it remained a pipe dream. A year or so later, I found myself wanting to become a deejay especially since I became friends with a couple. So I took up Broadcasting and had a hell of a good time during my radio internship at DZUP -- spinning records for hours everyday when no one else was using the place.
I never became a deejay. I guess I never had the glib of tongue nor the voice to become one. But my love for music brought me somewhere else -- for several years, I worked for a record company (two record labels, actually, although the first one I worked for was where I enjoyed it the most).
For a while I got burnt out. Especially when the music biz became too
showbiz for my taste. I tried changing industries but the pull of
show business was quite strong and I found myself in the limelight once again. This time I was at the heart of it all. You know, real
showbiz stuff. But then I realized that although I'm quite
showbiz enough, it wasn't really erm... enough, if you get my drift.
So...now I've turned full circle. And I'm back to what I really love. Music.
But no, I still am not a rock star. I just almost am. ;-)
Almost famous, yeah that's me, now that I am road manager to Sandwich.
Last night during one of our gigs, Raims said that being in a band is probably the best job in the world. I guess it is. And I have the next best thing. Hehe.
Seriously, it is!
You see, I never have to wake up early in the morning to go to the office. Unless of course there's an early gig or flight, which is not exactly everyday. And if I do have to go to the office to submit stuff or do reports, I don't have to go early. So I get to sleep later than usual, which is close to heaven.
Then there's the travel. They're mostly local, but who cares? I wouldn't be able to reach those places if I were stuck in an office right? Or maybe I would but not too frequent. And who knows? Maybe one of these days we'll have a gig outside of the country. We never know, do we?
Of course the best part of it all... I'm at the center of the music scene! And I get to work again with people I sincerely like and whom I've known for like a quarter of my life. I love my band. I love my work. I love my life. :-)
Yes, I'm almost a rock star and I'm loving every minute of it. :-)
Passing ThroughHey! Just a quick post to say I'm still alive...
...and rockin'!
Hehe.
Got a lot of stories actually. Just don't have much time to tell them. Maybe next week I'll be back to let you in on some of them.
Oh by the way, I've recovered from my injury and can now walk, albeit slowly. But at least I can walk and go out! Haha. Anyhoo---till next!
