I am once again here in the office even if it's Saturday. We're having this brainstorming session and I think it's going to be a weekly thing. There goes my social life. On one hand, that's kewl, I guess. I’d get to save money rather than spend it all on movies, or books, or food, or coffee, or... well you get the drift. But on the other hand, it's just... sad. I mean, I enjoy what I do now but somehow there are times I just want to stay home on weekends and laze around, or maybe go to the mall, or visit some friends. Heck, I can't even go to the gym now. Bleh. There is indeed no business like show business.
Say What?!?!
Was surfing the web and doing some research when I stumbled upon an old article in the archives of Manila Bulletin. Written by my good friend Walden Belen, the article was about the now-defunct reality talent search Born Diva. I wouldn't have noticed the article, really if not for the final line which read: Let a phrase from its theme song composed by Jonathan Manalo define it for you: "I'm born to reach my dreams. Unleash the diva in me!" For some reason, it made me laugh. I laughed real hard that my boss even asked me what was funny. Go figure.
I'm So Excited
There are two movies lined up that I'm excited to start working on. Of course I cannot divulge anything about them yet. All I can say is that one will be directed by Quark Henares and the other will be directed by Don Cuaresma. My reasons for excitement are entirely personal. Aside from the fact that Quark is a friend, his co-writer Diego Castillo is also my good friend (and former colleague in BMG). Plus, their story is somewhat close to my heart -- I guess you could say I live in that world. Errr... I guess I should stop now lest I say more. The Don Cuaresma movie I like because... it's about a world I used to know. A world that I tried to live in. And I think that when we start working on the film, I'd be able to see some people I haven't seen in a long time once again. I think it goes without saying that these people are people I really like. Aaahh... I wish I could talk about it more. Oh well. In a few month's time, I guess I can.
