It Started Over CoffeeSpeaking of coffee... just like in the song, Weng and Sam's love story started over coffee. At Starbucks Herrera to be exact. Hehe.
Theirs is a love story that validates the infamous line "there's a reaon for everything". Ever since college, Weng has been the
subject victim of matchmaking (mostly mine). And everytime, she would eventually fall for the guy I've matchmade her with. Gawd, was I good at that (and bad too for fooling around with people's feelings)! Hehe. Oh well...
Anyhoo---there was this certain person whom I perenially teased to her (even after grad), and I strongly believe that this person led her to Sam. See, we lost touch with this guy but one crazy night, Anna and I just figured we'd track him and so we did. I even pretended to be someone else just to get his number (yeah, I can be a stalker sometimes). A couple of months later, we met Sam through him. So yeah, there's a reason for everything. We wouldn't have met Sam if not for this guy.
So there. After being together for almost six years, Weng and Sam has finally tied the knot on April 22 at the Shrine of Jesus. Sadly, Anna and Ricio weren't there to witness their union but hey, I know they were there in spirit!
Here's the bride the night before the wedding:

Taken at Figaro at the back of Hyatt. Hehe.
Shempre pa, we had to have to coffee
pa din the night before her wedding. Keeping with the tradition
kumbaga.
And here's the wedding dress:
Ayuz ba?In between watching Lost, playing Zuma and Bookworm, I ripped and burned dozens of CDs for use during the reception the next day. At around 2 am, I decided to call it a day and tried to sleep. Fortunately, I found it easy to sleep. Maybe because I was tired and wasn't exactly feeling well that night. Unfortunately for Weng, since she had a hard time sleeping. Awwww. Excited
kse! Hehe.
Morning passed by like a blur. We had breakfast, watched TV, prepared the CDs and other stuff. Soon after, it was time to get ready. Grazie was first to go for makeup. Then me...
I have never seen this much makeup in my life:

That's me (obviously) and the makeup artist whose name I forgot.

Forgot to take a photo of the guy who made my hair, mostly because I was just too happy to see my hair straight. Hehe.

Nathan came at around 4pm.

He was day coordinator and was in charge of the reception. We hung around at the groom's room since the bride's room was full of people what with the photographer, videographer, designer's assistant and makeup people hanging around there.

A little before 5pm, it was time to get dressed.

Then I went back to Weng's room to take photos of her getting ready.

At 6pm, Sam, Dong, Laura, Grazie and I went ahead to the church. While there, I busied myself assisting the coordinator. Wanted to take photos but figured it was better not to since the ceremony would be starting in a couple of minutes. Besides, I had to let Mikko hold on to my phone since I didn't have a bag and it was quite of the question for me to hold on to it together with my bouquet.
So anyways, I couldn't quite concentrate at the church because (1)Weng's nieces who were flower girls (Ira and Kiana) were beside me and I had to play babysitter and (2)I was uncomfortable with my shoes. I was glad when we had to leave the church for the reception back at the hotel. When we got there, I ran upstairs and changed into my trusty white Havaianas =) Hehe.
No one seemed to notice that I was wearing slippers at the ballroom since my gown was really long. But I had to use Grazie's shoes when I was called for my speech at the center of the ballroom. I had a lot of things in my mind that I wanted to tell Weng and Sam while I was walking towards the podium. But when I got there, I just couldn't say all of them without crying so lest I start bawling my eyes out in front of their 200 guests, I cut my speech short and just wished them the best. Hehe.

Later on, I busied myself with taking more pictures.

And more pictures.

Nathan insisted I take his picture holding a bouquet and so I did.

Wahahahaha.
