Search for the Holy GrailFinally!
Was able to grab tickets to the Da Vinci Code and watched at 1.20 am Sunday morning at Greenbelt 3 Cinema 2.
Prior to watching the movie, I received a few warnings from some people about how
bad disappointing it is. I was even advised to drink several cups of coffee before watching. I did drink several cups of coffee prior to the screening, not because I heeded the warning, but because I came from a very long meeting. And as y'all know, long meetings are synonymous to several cups of coffee. But I digress.
Although the movie is long (2 1/2 hours) and as they say in cinema-speak
"madaldal", I relished every minute of it. A friend of mine who didn't read the book also liked it, as opposed to what most people have been saying. I heard someone say that the film is confusing... I think not. Just like the book, it was something I just couldn't stop errr... watching.
Save for the ending, the movie was more or less faithful to Dan Brown's novel. Of course there were some lines / treatments that were added for cinematic purposes but overall, it's exactly like the book. And that's the way I like it. =)
I know I said before that Tom Hanks doesn't fit the role (don't get me wrong... I love Tom Hanks! it's just that I didn't think he was right for Robert Langdon) but somehow, it worked! Goes to show how versatile he is.
And ooohhhh... Can I just say I loooovvvveeee Paul Bettany! =) :::::swoon:::::
